Wedge Baffle Design
The
Springer Wedge baffle is reminiscent of the Dukoff D pieces from the
70's. Made famous by David Sanborn and Michael Brecker for the
powerful, edgy, modern sound. This is baffle speeds up the airstream to
extreme degrees allowing the saxophone to compete with screaming
guitars for volume. It has it's place in the modern world of saxophone
playing but should be used in context if you are to be considered
a knowledgable sax player. (In other words, DON"T use this piece on
your senior recital to play Bach - you will look uneducated.)
